Course Creators

Hi, We are Charmaine and Laura. As Speech and Language Therapists and parents of small children, we know first hand what it feels like to be worried about your child's communication skills. We have coached and supported many children and parents and know what a difference early practical help can make for a child's communication. Trying to find relevant, personal and evidenced-based information online on supporting speech and language skills can feel confusing and overwhelming. A lot of advice, although accurate, can feel vague or unachievable. That's why we have created the Chatty Chops course, born out of months of interacting with parents online on our social media pages. Being a parent to a toddler doesn't leave room for much else during the day! That's why we have created our bespoke HOME framework to make it east for you to fit our strategies around your busy, everyday lives.

  • Who is this course for?

    Parents and carers of children aged 12-36 months who have delayed language skills . If you aren't sure whether your child is meeting their development milestones you can download our free communication checklist!

  • What will I learn?

    We've designed and packaged practical strategies that you can start using straight away in your home with your child. The unique 'HOME' framework has a busy parent in mind (because you are too!)

  • How long will it take?

    The course is designed as 6 modules that you can work through at a pace that suits you . There will be a live group session in modules 1&6 to open and close the course as well as prerecorded lessons. Each module will take no more than 45 minutes to complete. You'll receive access to module one right away, and each new module every following week to give you time to put your new skills into practice.

  • When is the first live group session?

    You will have access to the course from 12th September 2022 and the first online live group session will take place on 14th September, 8pm. If you can't make it, don't worry! You can watch a recording of the session back at your convenience.

  • Will this get my child talking?

    We use tried and tested parent-child interaction strategies which are known to support the communication skills of children including their understanding and use of language. Every child is unique and some may still benefit from more specialist support on a one to one basis depending on their needs.

  • What other support is included?

    You will get access to our members only community, a supportive environment where you can connect with other parents, including us!
